Facilities at the Abama Golf & Spa Resort:
GOLF:
The Abama golf course is one of the hotel's most classic features, created by world-renowned golf designer Dave Thomas. This immaculately maintained 18-hole, 72-par course contains over 300 species of sub-tropical plant life, including 25,000 palm trees. Most holes have views of the ocean and La Gomera.

The course boasts 22 lakes throughout it's ever changing terrain, as well as waterfalls and white-sand bunkers, where the course is challenging enough for the most experienced golfers. But there is also plenty for beginners too, with a practising field and golf lessons always available. Golfers will find a well-stocked specialist golf shop and La Casa Club restaurant, ideally situated at the heart of the course at the Abama Golf & Spa Resort.

Abama Golf Course will be aerated during 6th May until 26th May 2013 and 16th September until 7th October 2013. Special Green Fees will apply during these periods ... please check with reservations for further details.

SWIMMING POOLS:
Guests have the choice of 9 swimming pools at the Abama Golf & Spa Resort, each surrounded by plantlife and with breathtaking views of the sea. The Citadel's main swimming pool is a long, unbroken expanse of water, twisting and winding almost the length of the hotel, past the Los Chozos restaurant, which serves drinks and snacks to those lounging by the pool. The Citadel also has a pool reserved for adults, where guests can enjoy a poolside massage by the fully qualified spa attendants. For ultimate privacy, there is a third, very secluded pool in the Persian Garden.

The first three tiers of villas have a private pool each, while the last shares its pool with the El Mirador restaurant. This stunning infinity pool at the Abama Golf & Spa Resort commands a magnificent location right on the cliff's each, with views across the Atlantic to La Gomera island. If you take a stroll along the 30m jetty beside the beach, you will come to the last of the pools, 2 natural ocean lagoons reclaimed from the volcanic rock at the foot of the cliff.

SPA AND WELLNESS CENTRE:
(Charges apply) An atmosphere of harmony and peace to relax the body and mind. It has a floor area of 2,500 m2 distributed over 3 zones: the Recreation Zone with the thermal circuit, sauna, sanarium, Turkish baths, caldarium, thermal pool, ice cabin, tepidarium, aromatherapy, Kneipp circuit and cabins; the Treatment Zone with hydrotherapy, massages, music therapy, water jets, mud treatments, exfoliating treatments and the gym; the Beauty Zone with a full range of beauty treatments, facials, dermatological treatments, pedicures, manicures, waxing, solarium and exercise room. After the work out or treatment, guests have the option of relaxing in the spa's private garden or the spa cafe, where a variety of refreshing organic and locally grown herbal teas and fruit juices are available to order.

CITADEL ACCOMMODATION:
The Citadel is the heart of the Abama Golf & Spa Resort complex. Here you will find most of the Abama's bars and restaurants, with its library and screening room, indulgent spa, secret gardens and swimming pools. In the citadel, guests are offered a choice of a deluxe room or two categories of suite accommdation. The interior design of the rooms consists of local material such as Canary Island pine, and each of them comes equipped with a king-size bed or twin beds, a spacious fitted oak wardrobe with coat and show rack, a chest of drawers and state of the art audio-visual equipment. Guests can enjoy a refreshing shower or relaxing soak in the marble bathroom, all with large tubs, a seperate shower stall, and complimentary brand-name bath products, before drinking in the breathtaking view of the Atlantic, the golf course or the gardens from the comfort of your very own private furnished terrace or balcony.

VILLA ACCOMMODATION:
Just down from the main Citadel towards the ocean are the villas, combining exclusive luxury with blissful privacy. The Abama Golf & Spa Resort's villas are a retreat of calm designed for guests and families searching for the ultimate escape. Meals at the Abama Golf & Spa Resort:
The Abama Golf & Spa Resort has 9 restaurants for guests to choose from, offering culinary options ranging from light, simple cooking to highly sophisticated, world class gourmet cuisine. M.B is at the top of the scale, and is the signature restaurant of the world-famous Basque chef and holder a Michelin star, Martin Berasategui. Martin has become a household name across Spain and San Sebastian thanks to his creative Mediterranean cuisine.

Kabuki is the sister restaurant of Kabuki in Madrid, is also a Michelin star restaurant and is considered to be among the finest Japanese restaurants in the world. Looked after by Spanish chef Ricardo Sanz, Kabuki's menu is a sublime combination of Japanese culinary tradition, modern western techniques and fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

More informal dining options can be found in the citadel's four other restaurants: the poolside Los Chozos, Pampa Verona, with is mix of traditional Italian cooking and parrilla-based Argentinean cuisine; and La Veranda, serving a superb breakfast buffet. Also in the Citadel, there is a wine bar which serves a selection of delicious, traditional Spanish tapas. Away from the citadel, El Mirador serves fresh, beautifully prepared seafood from its enviable cliff top location, directly above the beach.

Annual closures due to staff holidays: M.B will be closed between 16th June until 17th July 2013 between and Kabuki will be closed between 1st September until 3rd October 2013.
