Lopesan Meloneras Golf

The 18-hole par 71 Lopesan Meloneras golf course in Meloneras, Gran Canaria has become the first in the Canary Islands to use solar powered buggies as part of an energy-saving drive.

The golf course opened in 2066 and has purchased 20 of the buggies for use by clients and will be increasing the numbers is it proves successful.  It was reported that they can save up to 70% of the usual cost of powering the buggies by letting the batteries charge directly from the sun.
