Keen travellers will no doubt be delighted to hear that they will now have an extra holiday - which could be in a destination such as Tenerife - in 2012.
Lord Mandelson announced on Tuesday (December 5th) that the May Day bank holiday will be shifted to June 4th and an extra holiday given on June 5th in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2010.
According to Abta, this extended holiday will enable travellers to enjoy an extra relaxing getaway.
"We are delighted that there will be an extra holiday opportunity in 2012," says Mark Tanzer, chief executive of the organisation.
Holidaymakers who choose to visit the island of Tenerife over this period will not be disappointed, as according to Tips from the T List, there is a vast array of affordable activities on offer at the destination.
Whether it is relaxing on one of the island's beautiful beaches, hiking up the world-renowned Teide volcano or sampling many of the stunning 16th century buildings in Garachico, a holiday in Tenerife could be fun for all the family.
