
Brits jetting off to the Canaries next January will have the chance to attend one of Spain's biggest music events.
The
Canary Islands Music Festival takes place from January 9th to February 16th, with performances being held in Tenerife,
Lanzarote,
La Palma,
Gran Canaria,
El Hierro,
Fuerteventura and
La Gomera.
Now in its 25th year, the event aims to promote the Canaries as a destination with more to offer than just beach holidays.
Some of the musicians who have performed at previous editions of the event include Alfredo Kraus, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Mstislav Rostropovich, Krystian Zimerman, Ivo Pogorelich and Cristina Gallardo-Domas.
Highlights of this year's festival include a performance by the Philadelphia Orchestra in Gran Canaria on January 31st.
