Canary Island holidays offer travellers plenty of variety in terms of activities and benefit from a great climate, a travel industry insider has suggested.
Paco Guttierez, promotions executive at the Spanish Tourist Office, pointed out that there are plenty of four and five-star hotels in the region, because the islands are appealing to people booking luxury holidays.
He also highlighted the different forms of relaxation that visitors can enjoy, with many spas using local produce such as lava and aloe vera during treatments.
Mr Guttierez explained: "[Consumers can] mix it up with other things like golf, shopping and the islands do offer a very nice climate all year round which some destinations won't."
A recent survey by the cabildo on
Fuerteventura found that more than 97 per cent of travellers who stayed on the island would recommend it to a friend as a good holiday destination, reported Sunny Fuerteventura.
Meanwhile, Sunscanner stated that Monarch Airlines recently reported strong demand for flights to the sun-soaked isle during the October half-term.
