Corralejo will be hosting its annual Kite Festival in November, so why not stop off there during your luxury holidays to
Fuerteventura?
Held at the Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park, the competition attracts kite-flyers from across the world, as well as local enthusiasts.
It will take place from Friday November 6th to Sunday 8th on more than 2,600 hectares of sand dunes at the park, which is perfect for travellers if they are planning their Canary Island holidays as a weekend break.
Whatsonwhen reported: "On Sunday, around 150 kites are handed out for children to have a go, while little parachuting teddy bears drop sweets from the sky."
The website states that the Friday flying session is for anyone to take part in, while Saturday is when the professionals take centre stage.
Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park has been a protected area since 1994 and is particularly renown for its bird population.
