Despite all the "hype" about Brits holidaying at home this year, millions of people will still be jetting off to warmer climes come summertime, it has been claimed.
Research by foreign exchange specialist Travelex has revealed that the majority of people are still planning to jet abroad to destinations such as
Lanzarote and
Fuerteventura.
In a poll carried out by the company, 98.8 per cent of Brits said it is their intention to take their annual summer holiday abroad.
Julian Neal, global marketing director for Travelex, said that many people are of the view that holidays are just too important to give up.
"While it's undoubtedly true that belts are being tightened, it appears consumers, having worked hard all year, see a holiday as an entitlement," he explained.
Meanwhile, holidaymakers have been advised by Travelex that they can beat the strong euro by ordering their currency online, travelling outside school holiday times and avoiding exchange outlets which charge commission.
