For three days every autumn, the blue skies above one part of
Fuerteventura come alive with colour.
The International Kite Festival takes place during the second weekend in November every year, attracting kite lovers to the Dunas de
Corralejo Natural Park.
This year's event, running from November 7th to 9th, will be the 11th in its history. As the years have passed, the festival has grown in stature to become one of the most interesting dates on the island's calendar.
Kites of all colours and sizes fill the sky by day, to be replaced by an equally spectacular display of fireworks that brings the weekend to a thunderous crescendo.
Even if you cannot make it in time for the kites, it is worth adding a visit to the Natural Park to a luxury holiday in
Fuerteventura.
Corralejo also offers great conditions for watersports, while its main town square is always abuzz with live entertainment.
