More people may be planning to travel abroad to destinations such as
Fuerteventura in the
Canary Islands in 2010, according to the results of a new survey.
The study, by Hotels.com, reveals that 71 per cent of respondents plan on having a long summer holiday next year, which they consider to be a "must-have" expense.
Furthermore, four out of five people state that they will have a ten to 14-day break abroad in the coming year.
Alison Couper, director of communications for the website, says the results of the survey show that attitudes have changed and less people will be staying at home to save money than in 2009.
"People see their holiday as a right, not a luxury and while they'll still be looking for a great deal, they are determined to get away to enjoy a well-deserved break and some sunshine," she adds.
Vacation Rental People states that Fuerteventura is the perfect destination for year-round sun seekers, boasting beautiful beaches and breathtaking vistas.
