Travelex and Monitise are set to develop mobile services for their Cash Passport product, which could in turn make holidaying in international locations such as the
Canary Islands easier.
The product is a prepaid travel money card that allows holidaymakers to carry money overseas in a secure way.
In addition to this, the item also allows the cardholder to pay for things and withdraw cash without there being any overseas charges.
The new development will allow cardholders to download an application to their mobile phone, which will enable them to reload their card as well as check their balance at any time.
Alastair Lukies, chief executive of Monitise, says that holidaymakers will benefit from this new technology.
