Fans of active sports will be congregating on the beaches of
Fuerteventura this summer for the Windsurfing and Kiteboarding World Cup.
Running from July 17th to August 1st, the event is likely to attract fans of the sports - and no doubt plenty of casual spectators - from all over the world to the island's golden sands.
Three separate competitions, running consecutively, make up the World Cup, beginning with the Kiteboarding PKRA Freestyle Grand Slam and Kiteloop Competition, which takes place between July 17th and 22nd.
That is followed by the Windsurfing PWA Slalom Grand Slam Final - finishing on the 27th - and the freestyle discipline of the same contest, which ends on August 1st.
Fuerteventura is ideally suited to windsurfing and similar sports due to the breezes that blow along its coastline.
Other activities that are well catered for include diving, fishing and golf, though those who wish to relax will be equally at home at the various all-inclusive hotels and magnificent beaches the Canary Island boasts.
