
Today it was revealed the amount that Brits are saving for their main holiday. GMTV reported that around 73% of Brits will be going on a main holiday during 2010, with around 46% revealing that they shop around for the best bargain.
The poll showed that on average, the British spend £1014 on their holiday, including accommodation, flight, food, drink and spending money. However, it seems that men are prepared to spend 26% more than women on the annual break ... £1,130 compared to £900 per person. The age gropup 50-59 are prepared to spend nearly twice as much as the under 20s.
The poll also compared professions, with the retail sector prepared to spend approximately 7% of their annual income on their holiday and those in the pharmaceutical sector as low as 2%, despite the fact that they tend to be higher earners that the retail industry.
