A pair of naked rowers set sail on a 3,000-mile journey across the Atlantic yesterday (December 9th) from
La Gomera.
The Sun reports that the duo are hoping to beat the current world record for two women completing the crossing of 75 days.
Annie Januszewski told the paper: "Hopefully being nude will allow us to shave days off our time."
Ms Januszewski and her rowing partner Mel King are the only women out of 30 teams who are battling 35 ft waves to take part in the Atlantic Rowing Race 2009.
Initially they had planned to complete the race in their underwear to avoid their clothes causing painful chafing. They then decided to strip down the full way.
The pair are hoping to raise £50,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support by the time they arrive in Antigua in February.
According to race organisers, more people have climbed Everest than successfully rowed an ocean.
