It was reported that the Calima conditions affecting Tenerife, La Gomera and Gran Canaria reduced visibility at the islands' airports which affected some flights on Monday, with visibility down to approximately 2.5km in Gran Canaria and 5-6km in Tenerife and La Gomera.
Meanwhile, weather conditions in Madrid meant delays of up to 2 hours for 12 flights between the islands and the mainland due to fog in Spain's capital. However, the Spanish Airports Authority, AENA, said that airports were now operating normally.
The Met Office advised that the calima started to dissipate on Monday night leaving conditions greatly improved yesterday. They also said that the rest of the week should see fine weather cross the Canaries.
