People booking their Canary Island holidays may be interested to hear that the region is very popular with their fellow Brits.
So while visitors are lounging around enjoying the beautiful vistas at luxurious destinations such as
Puerto Naos on
La Palma, they might have a chance to have a chat with another holidaymaker from the UK.
Promotions executive from the Spanish Tourist Office Paco Guttierez claimed that there is a "strong market" for British people in the
Canary Islands.
He explained: "Depending on the islands, some have more Germans [visiting] but the British are an important market for the islands and mainland Spain as well."
Mr Guttierez also pointed out how popular the islands are for people taking their 5 star holidays during the winter, due to the pleasurable climate that the islands enjoy.
On the Beach recently reported that the Canary Islands is one of the holiday destinations which has enjoyed the most growth in popularity in October compared to the same month last year, with an increase of 19 per cent.
