The image of cruises being full of old and rich people has gone, says a travel expert, who believes that the ships are for anyone who likes having their whole holiday taken care of for them.
Cruises through the
Canary Islands make for the purest of luxury holidays, as travellers are gently floated around the stunning scenery of the region with stops in classy destinations such as
Santa Cruz de Tenerife and
La Palma.
Bob Atkinson, a travel expert at Travelsupermarket, pointed out that cruises have now become very popular for people who enjoy all inclusive 5 star holidays.
He explained: "Everything is there laid on for you and it's all organised. You get an opportunity to visit a number of different places and see a number of different things."
Last week, a survey by YouGov indicated that the two most important reasons why people enjoy going on cruises are the beautiful port scenery and the excursions available at destinations.
