Those thinking of booking a last-minute holiday may wish to consider a break on the sun-soaked island of
Lanzarote.
According to Spain's president Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, there is no finer place to take a break.
Mr Zapatero is currently starring in a new publicity video for the island, in a bid to encourage more people to visit, Think Spain reports.
"There are few places in Spain and in Europe, like Lanzarote
[It] is all about nature, life, rest and the friendliness of the people," he commented.
The Spanish leader has enjoyed several family holidays on the island, taking breaks there in 2005 and 2006.
Meanwhile, it was reported last week that scientists have discovered a new species of crustacean in Lanzarote.
A team of international researchers and cave divers found the creature during an exploration of Tunnel de la Atlantida the longest subterranean lava tube in the world.
