Lanzarote or another exotic location have been advised to do a little research on their destination before they arrive.
Amelie Hurst, a spokesperson at online community TripAdvisor, explained that for many people, finding out about local customs and traditions is one of the most important parts of the holiday experience.
Indeed, learning a little more about a destination before arriving can mean that the entire trip is more enjoyable for everyone involved.
She explained that the internet is a great place to find out information about a destination, such as whether or not public displays of affection are appropriate or if revealing bathing suits are acceptable.
Other things to investigate could include the national dish of a country, or if there are any particularly exciting landmarks that are worth visiting while there.
Notable attractions in Lanzarote include the Jameos del Agua cave complex and the Castillo de San Jose.
