The island of
Lanzarote boasts "surreal scenery" and "magnificent mountain ranges", according to one travel blog.
Wandermelon has recently reviewed the landscape of the island and is particularly complimentary about the scenic delights that people who holiday in Lanzarote could enjoy.
The blog states that the island's terrain, which was created by a series of seismic activities in the 18th century, is often likened to the surface of the moon and can be described as a "lunar landscape".
Lanzarote has been the setting for many motion pictures over the years, the article goes on to add, including the recent film Broken Embraces starring Penelope Cruz.
Picture-perfect backdrops, including "magnificent mountains, lava fields, arid desert and unspoiled beaches" could all be worth a visit from Canary Island holidaymakers.
Last month, the Independent described the island's landscape as "remarkable geology" and stated it was not surprising that the whole of Lanzarote had been declared by Unesco as a Biosphere Reserve.
