The island of
Lanzarote could be the perfect low-key holiday destination, according to one airline.
Jet2 has suggested that for holidaymakers who want a relaxed winter holiday, Lanzarote could be an ideal choice.
Furthermore the Independent's Simone Kane recently visited the island and advised that the former sleepy fishing port of
Arrecife has an unassuming vibe, while having plenty of activities on offer.
She is particularly complimentary about Lanzarote's beaches, writing that Playa Grande is a "particularly attractive sweep of sand", while those who want to mix with the locals should head to Playa de la Garita in Arrieta.
Ms Kane went on to suggest that for those who want an action-packed winter break there are plenty of options, from sea kayaking in Puerto Calero to mountain biking all over the scenic routes of the island.
RTE Travel states on its website: "Lanzarote is ideal for couples who just want to get away for some rest and relaxation."
