Former US president Bill Clinton landed in
Tenerife earlier this week, for just less than three-quarters of an hour.
The visit was top secret in nature and took place due to a technical stopover for his private plane.
While on the island, he greeted several members of the guardia civil in the
Tenerife Sur Airport terminal and grabbed a black coffee before jetting off again.
It is not the first time that Mr Clinton has visited the region.
He was last in the Canaries in 2005, when he came to give a speech on environmental issues at the Santa Cruz auditorium.
Other famous faces spotted on the island in recent weeks have included former Atomic Kitten member Kerry Katona - who was spending time relaxing with her husband - and members of Manchester City Football Club.
Mr Clinton was the 42nd president of the USA, holding office between 1993 and 2001.
