Those considering a trip to a popular holiday destination such as
Tenerife or
Lanzarote this year should ensure they book early.
That is the opinion of Sue Ockwell, a spokesperson for the Association of Independent Tour Operators (Aito), who said that the best holidays are the ones which are booked in advance.
"Book early – there are many special offers that are valid until the end of February (e.g. two weeks for the price of one) that will save you money," she commented.
Arranging your holiday early means you also have more choice where dates are concerned, Ms Ockwell added.
Other top tips from Aito include travelling during quieter months such as May and June, buying a good travel insurance policy and carrying out some research on your destination.
