Although people are keen to travel to destinations such as the Canaries this year, holidaymakers will be keeping a close eye on their budgets, it has been revealed.
Research carried out by Kayak found that price is a big concern for 32 per cent of holidaymakers.
This figure compares to 24 per cent of people who claimed that having fun is their number on priority this summer.
A further 2.2 per cent said that finding love is their main concern when going on holiday, the Press Association reports.
Speaking last week, Ignacio Vasallo of the Spanish Tourist Office, said that the
Canary Islands are a great destination for holidaymakers looking to save money this year.
There are hotels and attractions to suit all budgets and, unlike taking a holiday the UK, sunshine is almost guaranteed in destinations such as
Tenerife and
Lanzarote, he added.
