
Canary Island holidays prove popular at any time of year, but are particularly sought-after during the winter months.
Online resource the Move Channel states that the islands have a wide range of qualities that appeal to people as the weather at home becomes cooler.
It noted that the "guaranteed sunshine" offered by the destination means that travellers will always by keen to go there.
Meanwhile, the current economic climate is also helping the
Canary Islands to enhance its popularity, the site stated.
It explained that because people are paying more attention to their finances, they are cutting back on long-haul flights and looking for destinations that are quick and easy to reach - such as
Tenerife.
Finally, the site noted that a range of low-cost airlines provide flights to the Canary Islands, making them an economical destination.
Earlier this month, Paco Guttierez, promotions executive from the Spanish Tourist Office, said that there is a "strong market" for British tourists on the Canary Islands.
