Opened as a tourist attraction last June, the spectacular Cueva del Viento cave complex has already attracted over 5,000 visitors.
So popular are the caves that extra tours have been laid on to cope with demand,
Tenerife News reports.
Situated in Icod de los Vinos, the volcanic complex is home to the longest lava tube in the world and features 17 metres of snaking passageways, dark chasms and unique rock formations.
Holidaymakers visiting Tenerife can take a guided tour of the complex; however, the terrain can be difficult to navigate and it is not recommended for sufferers of claustrophobia.
Those exploring the caves are also advised to wear suitable clothing, including sturdy shoes and long trousers.
One of Tenerife's other unmissable destinations is Mount Teide, where visitors can journey to the top in a cable car and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding islands.
