There is more to
Tenerife than sun, sand and sea, it has been suggested.
Writing this week in the Travel Trade Gazette, Dave Richardson said that although people may not necessarily associate Tenerife with city breaks, there is plenty to see and do in Santa Cruz.
"Santa Cruz is a fascinating city with a major performing arts complex, interesting history, great choice of restaurants and easy access to beaches," he noted.
As well as stunning examples of architecture and a good selection of shops and restaurants, the city is also home to several cultural attractions, including the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts.
The museum features 14 rooms, with the majority dedicated to paintings.
Visitors will find works on display by renowned artists such as Gaspar de Quevedo, Cristobal Hernandez e Quintana and Gonzalez Mendez.
Other attractions include the Palacio de Carta and the Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion de
la Orotava.
