Holidaymakers visiting
Tenerife can explore the island's flora and fauna at the annual Fiesta del Almendro en flor, which is celebrated next month.
Taking place on February 7th, the Fiesta del Almendro en flor offers visitors and locals the opportunity to take part in a guided walk and see the stunning blossoming almond trees, which have grown on the island since the eruption of Chineyero in 1909.
According to the
Tenerife News, the walk will begin at 9am, with participants meeting at the plaza de Santiago del Teide.
"The trees flowering in winter are a unique phenomenon of nature presenting a spectacular view of white petals with azure leaves," the news source said.
Registration for the event costs five euros and walkers are advised to bring suitable clothing and footwear.
Meanwhile, those looking to explore the island's unique landscape and natural attractions can also visit Teide National Park, which can be discovered by foot or by cable car.
