The beautiful and varied landscapes of
Tenerife have inspired a commended photography collection.
Mike Hughes' collection, inspired by holidays in Tenerife, as well as Turkey and New York, have landed the photographer a place in the final of the international 2009 Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, according to the News and Star.
Mr Hughes says that he can find inspiration for his photographs in many locations as long as he has his eyes open and his camera at the ready.
He is a fan of dramatic landscape shots and advises holidaymakers to always keep their cameras handy as he never knows when the perfect picture will come along.
There were thousands of entries in the competition from all over the world, but Mr Hughes is one of the lucky 120 who have made it to the final.
It's not surprising that Tenerife was the inspiration of the successful collection, as budding photographers can enjoy unusual subjects such as rock formations that have created lunar landscapes and Spain's highest town,
Vilaflor.
