The
Tenerife Santa Cruz Carnival may be over for this year but the festivities are about to begin in
Los Cristianos.
Taking place from March 7th to March 16th, Los Cristianos may be one of the smallest carnivals on the island; however, according to WhatsonWhen, it still has a great deal to offer holidaymakers.
Some of the highlights of the event include a masked ball, a horse-drawn street parade and the election of a children's carnival queen.
Holidaymakers can expect to see participants dressed in colourful costumes performing traditional Spanish dances, as well as rumbas and sambas.
In other news, it was reported this week that the organisers of Tenerife's Santa Cruz Carnival are already planning next year's event.
According to News in the Sun, organisers intend to elect a carnival king next year, in addition to the usual carnival queen.
