Though
Tenerife's famous Santa Cruz Carnival is currently winding down for the year, those heading to the area have been urged not to let the fun stop there, as the island still has a great deal to offer in terms of entertainment.
Plenty of other carnivals are scheduled in 2009 to keep locals and holidaymakers dancing, drinking and entertained, highlights News in the Sun.
First up will be the
Los Gigantes Carnival, which is scheduled for March 5th and is sure to bring some impressive events and sights to the island.
The
Los Cristianos Carnival follows a day later, which will see the electing of a carnival queen, a lavish gala and a series of colourful events being brought to the popular holiday hotspot.
Puerto de La Cruz, which is a major focal point of Tenerife's carnival scene, is the second-largest tourist hotspot on the island and is capable of accommodating up to 30,000 holidaymakers.
