With millions of Brits preparing to jet abroad this weekend, new research has revealed that laidback travel companions are the most desirable.
A study carried out by Abbey found that 56 per cent of people like to travel with easygoing people.
Of those polled, 79 per cent said their biggest irritant is holidaying with someone who is always complaining.
The survey also revealed that for some Brits, the attractiveness of a travel companion is also important, with 43 per cent of men claiming that a good-looking person to share their break with is a must.
Just six per cent of those polled said they would like to travel abroad with a party animal.
Furthermore, the survey revealed that half a million Brits would consider holidaying with a work colleague.
Emma Walkey, a spokesperson for Abbey, commented: "With people spending so much of their lives at work, it's perhaps not as surprising as it may first seem that nearly half a million Britons would choose a work colleague as their ideal holiday companion."
In related news, research carried out earlier this month by Holiday Extras showed that spending time with family and loved ones is a top priority for 42 per cent of travellers.
