A new guest has arrived at Tenerife's Loro Parque - a 3.5 meter female orca [killer whale] called Morgan.
Loro Parque's first 4 orcas were born in captivity at SeaWorld are are only on loan, the first was born in the facilities last year and now Morgan [a rescued orca found all alone to the north west of the Netherlands who was underweight] has joined them. At first, it was attempted to return Morgan to the wild, but it proved impossible to find her family pod.
Loro Parque has the best facilities in Europe and were asked if they would take her. After the matter was taken to court, the export of the whale was approved and she was transferred at the end of November and has stayed with the two youngest orcas without any problems.
