Holidaymakers visiting
Tenerife's famous Loro Parque attraction this year will have the opportunity to greet eight tiny new arrivals.
Born this month, the Gentoo penguin chicks are sure to be a hit with visitors to the animal park.
According to Tenerife News, the chicks all weigh between five and six kilogrammes and will be released into the zoo's general penguin population soon.
The sex of the little ones is not yet known and they are currently being looked after by their parents.
This time of year is said to be ideal for a visit to Loro Parque and, according to zoo officials, holidaymakers will be delighted with the "friendly antics" of the penguins.
Other animals at Loro Parque include dolphins, gorillas and orcas, as well as parrots, giant tortoises and a lively group of chimpanzees.
