
Authorities on the island of
Tenerife are planning to revamp the area which links Pueblo Canario in
Playa de las Americas with Puerto Colon.
The marine front area is popular with holidaymakers and locals taking evening strolls and officials are keen to open up the walkway and create better views of the sea, Tenerife News reports.
Ministers estimate that the first phase of the upgrade will cost around 1.3 million euros and take approximately three months to complete.
The new walkway area will benefit from new lighting, improved stairway access and the removal of a number of walls, in order to create a more pleasant environment.
