Holidaymakers travelling to the
Canary Islands next May will have the opportunity to see British rocker Rod Stewart perform in
Tenerife.
Stewart has been booked to perform on May 16th, with the likely venue being the Adeje Golf Club, News in the Sun reports.
Confirmation of the gig, along with ticket details are expected to be made public at a press conference in the near future.
Jordi Splugas, from the
Canary Islands Live Sun Festival, told the newspaper that there had been a great deal of interest, particularly from the tourism sector.
Following a concert by Elton John last year, the island is now being seen as a major venue by international artists.
The island of
Tenerife enjoys warm temperatures all year round and is home to "mountains, deserts, volcanoes, exotic plant and animal life, and spectacular beaches" according to Word Travels.
