Travellers on their way to
Tenerife will be interested to hear that there is a fiesta taking place on November 29th and the run-up to it has already begun.
Visitors can try some of the tastiest food and drink that the island has to offer during the month leading up to this event, with new harvests of wine on offer and plenty of food too.
The festival, on the eve of San Andres, involves children in
Puerto de la Cruz running around town pulling trains of old tins and bits of metal, which is a recreation of an old fable involving Saint Andrew, according to Tenerife Magazine.
Andy Montgomery wrote on the website: "The story goes that local children tied pots and pans to the disciple's clothes so that he'd wake up every time he tried to turn over."
On September 14th, the island celebrates the Festival of Saint Christ (Fiesta de Santo Cristo), when there are religious processions, military parades and fireworks.
