Teide National Park has been described as one of
Tenerife's must-visit destinations.
According to news provider Island Connections, the area boasts a stunning array of flora and fauna, as well as the famous Mount Teide Spain's highest peak.
"To get the most out of a Teide visit, go to the El Portillo visitors' centre first so that you know what you are looking at later and how it came about," the publication noted.
Holidaymakers can explore the national park by taking a free hiking tour or a coach trip.
Cable car rides are also available and once at the top of the peak visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding islands, such as
Gran Canaria,
La Palma,
El Hierro and
La Gomera.
Some of Tenerife's other popular attractions include Loro Parque and the breathtaking cliffs of
Los Gigantes, which are situated on the west coast of the island and reach heights of up to 800 metres in some areas.
