Granadilla in Tenerife has been the host for this year's Ganigo tourism awards.
According to Island Connections, prizes have been awarded to organisations and individuals in the Canaries who have stood out in the field of tourism.
The awards that were given out were pieces of Ganigo pottery based on traditional Guanche Canarian aboriginal design.
Cit Sur, the centre for tourism initiatives, handed out the prizes in the Casino 11 de Junio and attending the ceremony were the mayors of Granadilla, Adeje and Santiago del Teide to name just a few.
Organisations were recognised for excelling in the fields of food, entertainment, attractions, travel or local authority tourism programmes.
Granadilla de Abona agricultural market was one winner of a borough award.
The market has been open since 2006 and aims to maintain the agrarian landscape of the area while providing an arena for agriculturists, fisherman and craftsmen to sell products such as cheese, wine and fruit that are popular with tourists.
