If you are on your Santa Cruz holidays in Tenerife, then you are in good company as people are basking in glory at the tribute paid to them in the British media. The Guardian has selected Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife, as one of the top 5 places in the world to live.
The other 4 selected are Maui in Hawaii, Portland in Oregon, St Pauli in Hamburg and Cihangir in Istanbul.
According to Ton Dyckhoff of The Guardian, Santa Cruz is "magnificently, sexily exotic." He goes on to say "Santa Cruz does have bright placitas filled with orange trees and dark, drowsy coffee bars full of old men playing dominos, as well as a brilliant food market .... And when it all gets too much, there's a series of great beaches".
So, perhaps now is a good time to visit Santa Cruz in Tenerife !
