Tenerife is fast becoming one of Europe's best golf destinations, it has been claimed.
It may take longer to get to the
Canary Islands than to your local driving range; however, it is well worth the journey, according to the
Tenerife News.
The island is home to more than ten courses and ferries are also available for those looking to make the most of the facilities on neighbouring islands such as
La Gomera.
"Pick of the courses is almost certainly the new Dave Thomas-designed Abama course, but there's really not much to choose between the likes of Abama, Seve Ballesteros's Buenavista lay-out, Adeje, Amarilla and
Golf del Sur," the newspaper said.
Los Palos is also said to be worth a visit and is an ideal course for beginners and families looking to play a gentle round of golf on their holidays.
Other activities on offer in
Tenerife include water sports and holidaymakers can explore everything from shipwrecks and caves to coral gardens.
