The
Costa Adeje in
Tenerife has been praised by BBC newsreader Huw Edwards.
Speaking to the Telegraph, he states some of his family's happiest memories have been created on the island.
The News at Ten presenter explains a number of factors have resulted in his passion for the region.
Among them are clean beaches, well-equipped hotels, plenty of sunshine, rugged beauty and good-quality restaurants, he adds.
"We were initially reluctant to try
Tenerife because of its rather mixed reputation, but it has drawn us back several times in both summer and winter," Mr Edwards tells the publication.
Concluding, he notes a number of his favourite places in
Tenerife, including the Meson Castellano restaurant - which he says has a "fantastic" wine cellar - and Masia del Mar, which serves up some of the island's best seafood in a relaxed atmosphere.
Mr Edwards has worked at the BBC for more than 20 years.
