Authorities in Tenerife have announced plans to make the island's museums more accessible for disabled visitors.
The Council of
Tenerife is keen for everyone to enjoy the attractions, regardless of their physical ability, Tenerife News reports.
Several museums are participating in the new accessibility programme including the Nature and Man Museum, the History and Anthropology Museum and the Science and Cosmos Museum.
"Once the project is completed, these three cultural centres will be equipped to offer the people of Tenerife with reduced mobility or impaired hearing or sight the necessary facilities to enjoy the island's museums," the news provider noted.
There will be improved access to displays, better lighting, audio information panels and Braille signs.
Meanwhile, Brits travelling to the
Canary Islands this Easter have been advised by the government to renew their European Health Insurance Cards before leaving.
