Guia de Isora in south-west
Tenerife has evolved into the cultural hotspot of the province, according to Island Connections.
With the help of public funding and the guidance of mayor Pedro Martin, the region has been able to make the most of it's older and more traditional roots while appealing to a multi-cultural population.
The area has become a very attractive social centre that is drawing in many visitors, the site added.
On an international scale, Guia de Isora has become well recognised after hosting MiradasDoc, an international festival of documentary movies, during which the public were able to see more than 70 films from all over the world.
Water sports, fishing or relaxing on the beautiful beaches of San Juan and Alcaca are just some of the activities that are on offer for visitors to Guia de Isora, while the magnificent views from the top of Las Canadas del Teide exhibit the unique charm of south Tenerife's landscape.
