The common dolphin - grows to 2m with a streamlined body and a clearly defined beak. It is mainly grey but may have pale flanks. In open water it is usually seen in schools and are often seen within sight of the shore.
The bottle-nosed dolphin is similar in appearance but grows up to 4m and is almost uniformly grey in colour.
Striped dolphins are also occasionally seen.
In addition to the Gibraltar dolphins, various types of whales are often seen such as the fin, sperm, pilot and orca and you may even be lucky enough to see sea turtles and flying fish.
