Siam Park in Tenerife
A holiday to Tenerife is not complete unless you have experienced the thrills of Siam Park in the resort of Costa Adeje.

Owned by the same family who own Loro Parque in Tenerife [the Kiessling family], they travelled the world visiting over 50 water parks in search of new ideas to build Siam Park – a new theme park with aquatic rides.

Construction of the theme park started in 2004 on a plot of land 185,000m˛ in Costa Adeje, and it took 4 years to complete. The main people responsible for the park’s completion were Jose Luis Olcina and Philip Mayfield who managed the construction, and Paolo Bonanno who was responsible for the decoration in the park. Paolo travelled to Thailand and Cambodia with Mr Kiessling and was so inspired by the art of Thailand and their culture that he created all the Thai figures and statues in the park. On the 15thSeptember 2008 the park was opened with the guest of honour being Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Today, Siam Park belongs to the Loro Parque group and has been built with the environment in mind using the latest technology. An example of this is that the water for the park comes in from the sea to a reservoir where it is the desalinated and heated to 25degrees before entering the park. After this, the water the recycled to water the plants and to keep the gardens to a high standard.
