The mansion was originally named after its owner - the Marquis of La Quinta Roja and today offers old-world Canarian charm coupled with tasteful contemporary touches and the up-to-date level of comfort you would expect from a hotel. A saltwater swimming pool is located around 100 m away and the lava sand beach is only 300 m from the hotel. An abundance of shops and entertainment venues are located in the immediate vicinity. A worthwhile excursion is to the island's capital, Puerto de la Cruz, which is 30 km away and is easily reached with the local public transport. The volcanic eruption of 1706 partically destroyed the manion during the subsequent fire after which it was rebuilt retaining much of the original architecture and carved woodwork. The wood used is called "tea" timber which is taken from the native canarian pine trees. Today, this wood forms the majority of the ceilings in the La Quinta Roja Hotel. In October 1709, the Sisters of the Order of the Immaculate Conception took refuge here while their convent was being rebuilt and eventually moved back some 40 years later.

The attractive building was carefully renovated in 2002, and offers a total of 40 rooms spread over 2 floors which are built around an enchanting courtyard. The hotel itself is a traditional stone Canarian building with peach-washed walls. Guests are offered a 50 m˛ garden, a reception that is open around the clock and a pretty patio area with a marble fountain and a seating area. In addition, there is also a lounge and reading room with a library, café, cosy hotel bar and a restaurant. Room and laundry services are also available to guests.

Village festivals are held between the 1st and 16th August. Some festivities take place in front of the La Quinta Roja Hotel.
