Praia Grande is an expansive stretch of white sand on the eatern side of the River Arade, opposite Praia da Rocha. The water here is always calm making it one of the safest beaches in the Algarve.
There is a good water sports centre on the beach, but for those who just want to relax, there are sunbeds and parasols for hire.
You can choose from several restaurants and bars, some offering traditional Portuguese food.
