Sited beside the busy roundabout on the northeastern entrance to the sity, the Cross of Portugal [Cruz de Portugal] is a beautiful religious sculpture dating from the early 16th century.
Such crosses were erected at key points along medieval pilgrim routes and this is a rate surviving example.
