PUERTO BANUS HOLIDAYS AND PUERTO BANUS HOTELS
If you are planning your holidays to Pueto Banus and are looking at hotels in Puerto Banus, the following information may help by giving you an overview of this popular resort in the
Costa del Sol, Spain.
Puerto Banus is just a short distance [6km] to the west of
Marbella, and was originally a village-style port development , but now the flashiest marina on the Costa del Sol where the rich and famous love to play and also where you can find some enormous floating palaces. It is where the international jet set come to shop, party and socialise.
Puerto Banus was created in 1968 and was named after its designer Jose Banus. It has produced many rivals along the coast, however few can show off the backdrop of rocky hills, which gives the marina its stunning setting. The port is full of immense, flamboyant yachts and gin palaces looked after by a troop of uniformed crew. Behind the port, the Golden Mile to Marbella pulsates with numerous restaurants and nightspots.
The waterfront pathways are surrounded by eye-catching Spanish and Moorish apartments, which form a faultless chain of eating places, bars and boutiques. Head to the Spanish department store El Corte, which has five stories or the Marina Banus Shopping Centre or for a great way to find those local products or souvenirs, take a trip to the local market every Saturday morning.
Also to be explored and enjoyed is the surrounding areas of Puerto Banus. The Sierra Bermeja Mountains rise up to the north of the town and a number of golf courses are scattered within a 10 km radius of Puerto Banus. These golf courses are named some of the best in Europe and make Puerto Banus one of the World’s top golfing destinations.
As the sun sets on the port, good-looking people strut their stuff along the quayside before heading to the most stylish and chic nightlife venues. Head to Olivia Valere which is less than 1km up the Istan road off the Golden Mile. Modelled on Granada's Alhambra, the interior is an Arabian Nights fantasy of interlinking courtyard dance floor, splashing fountains, gold columns and darkly beautiful bars.
