PUERTO DE LA DUQUESA TRAVEL GUIDE
Costa del Sol, SpainIf you are looking for a holiday hotel, or apartment in Puerto de la Duquesa, the following information may help by giving you an overview on the resort.
Cradling the coastline of the Costa del Sol is Puerto de la Duquesa, a little taste of paradise. Although it is a fast developing resort, it has managed to retain its charm and quiet environment. There are no high-rise buildings here, although there are many holiday apartments to rent. In the heart of Puerto de la Duquesa, is a picturesque Marina, built with more than 300 berths.
Along the waterfront, is a huge selection of restaurants and bars, topped with apartments over looking the boats in the port. The port has once been portrayed as the next
Puerto Banus and is edged by two long sandy beaches, boasting their own beach bars. One of the beaches extends to the left as far as Sabinillas and on to Estepona. The other beach winds round the coast to Sotogrande. In the summer months, the port offers a tiny street market selling all the local goods. The Marina to the waterfront is closed to normal traffic making it safe for children. As well as modern pleasure boats, the port is still home to a working fishing fleet and daily catches are landed here.
Puerto de la Duquesa has its own 18-hole golf course, which has recently been refurbished. The course offers stunning views of the mountains and along the coast. Within 10 minutes outside of Puerto de la Duquesa are the courses of Valderrama, Sotogrande, La Canada, San Roque and Alcaidesa boasting magnificent views of the breath taking Rock of Gibraltar.
